Play your part in the Rose Theatre production of Hay Fever
For their autumn season, the Rose Theatre are planning a major revival of Noël Coward’s Hay Fever. Celia Imrie, who has been hailed as one of Britain’s finest actresses, is playing the outrageous Judith Bliss. She will be joined by Alexandra Gilbreath (Myra Arundel), Stephen Boxer (David Bliss) and Adrian Lukis (Richard Greatham).
Director Stephen Unwin wants to move away from the traditional presentation of Coward on stage. By exploring the subversive energy and wit within the play he aims to create a vibrant and faithful, but above all, a distinctive and entertaining production of Coward’s classic.
To make Hay Fever a success they need your help. They are looking for generous supporters who are willing to donate £200 towards the cost of this production.
In return Production Patrons will receive two complimentary top price tickets to the show and acknowledgement of your gift in your complimentary programme.
If you would like to support the Rose and become a Production Patron, please contact Suzanne van Even on 020 8939 4058 or email suzannee@rosetheatrekingston.org. |

A Weekend Conference at
Downing College, Cambridge
From Friday 16th – Sunday 18th September, 2011, with special guest, John Julius Norwich
The Society has booked the neo-classical Downing College, dating from the beginning of the 19th century and set in twenty acres of lawns and trees, for our second residential conference next year. We have secured the magnificent newly-opened Howard Theatre(see photograph) for our main events.
Following on from the success of the 2006 conference at Oxford, we are planning to take a fresh and critical look at Noël Coward’s talents as a writer of plays, prose, verse and lyrics and as a composer, director, actor and film-maker. An eminent mix of writers, actors, directors, performers and academics are being invited to participate in various ways. More details will appear in future Home Chats.
